Alison Abbott

Ms Abbott is the Communications Director for the World Liquid Gas Association (WLGA). The WLGA is the global voice for the liquid gas industry including LPG and renewable liquid gases. WLGA is based in Paris, France, and covers the industry in over 125 countries.

As Global Communications Director, Alison heads the WLPGA Communications Goal, leads the communications team, and manages the WLGA’s worldwide communications strategy. She is responsible for the strategy and execution of the internal and external communications initiatives of the association.

An accomplished public speaker, Alison regularly speaks or moderates at industry events around the world, both for the association’s members and at high level events such as COP. Alison has spoken at events in over 30 countries around the world. Ms Abbott is also co-founder and global manager of the WLGA’s Women in LPG global initiative (WINLPG). WINLPG is a network to promote and encourage the development of women in the industry. This network currently comprises some 4,000 women around the world and has thirteen national chapters, which are all overseen by Alison and her team.

Alison was born in Sheffield, UK and has a joint honours degree in French and English from Nottingham Trent University, UK. Alison has dual British/French nationality and has lived in France for over 20 years. Alison resides in South-West France in the heart of the Perigord region, where she and her partner also run a ‘gite’ holiday home.
