Vice President and Senior Economist at Payden & Rygel

Sid Saravat is a Vice President and Senior Economist at Payden & Rygel, a global investment manager based in Los Angeles. He develops views on the U.S. and global economies and communicates them to clients and internal stakeholders in a clear, engaging way—helping institutional investors, pension funds, and sovereign wealth managers understand how macroeconomic forces shape portfolios.

Over more than a decade at the firm, he has become a trusted voice on fixed income and macroeconomic policy, authoring widely distributed research and presenting to clients across the United States, Europe, Japan, and Australia. He holds a Master of Financial Engineering (MFE) from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and a BA in Economics from Occidental College.

Born in India and raised in Thailand, Sid has long been drawn to the intersection of economics and human opportunity. He serves on Occidental College’s Board of Governors as Vice President of the Philanthropy Committee, and on the Advisory Board of Joran Partners, a boutique private-market secondaries advisory firm based in Switzerland.

Outside of work, Sid enjoys cooking Indian and Thai cuisine, mixing craft cocktails, and playing tennis and golf. As a Global Girls Glow Board Member, he brings analytical rigor and a global perspective to the organization’s mission, with a focus on expanding opportunity and amplifying the impact of girls around the world.
