Dr. Chastity D. Gaither is a seasoned educator, nonprofit leader, and community advocate with over two decades of experience driving equity-centered student success initiatives across educational institutions and nonprofit sectors. As the Detroit Partnership Coordinator for Global Girls Glow, Dr. Gaither brings a deep passion for empowering girls and a proven track record of building transformational partnerships that uplift communities.
With a Ph.D. in Higher, Adult, and Lifelong Education from Michigan State University (MSU), Chastity has held numerous leadership roles, including Executive Director of Core Elements Higher Education Resource Center, University Innovation Alliance Fellow at MSU, and Associate Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance at Wayne County Community College District. Her work has spanned strategic planning, curriculum design, partnership development, and leading large-scale initiatives focused on racial equity and academic achievement.
Chastity is a published author and national speaker who has led programs supporting student success, co-curricular mentoring, and culturally responsive leadership development. She has served on numerous local and national boards, including NASPA’s Center for Women Advisory Board and the Association of Black Women in Higher Education. Her work is deeply rooted in the belief that entire communities thrive when girls and women are supported to amplify their voices.
At Global Girls Glow, Dr. Gaither leads partnership coordination in Detroit, managing mentor engagement, training facilitation, data collection, and community events that align with the organization’s mission to ignite girls’ power to advocate for themselves and their communities.
A brave woman Chastity deeply admires is her grandmother, whose wisdom, resilience, and commitment to truth-telling continue to inspire her personal and professional journey. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, mentoring young women, and spending quality time with family.
